A WITNESS-FIRST COMMUNITY

Listen carefully. Preserve the record.

A respectful response and a rigorous response are compatible. Start with the witness's exact account, protect their choices and keep interpretation separate from observation.

BEFORE YOU POST

Four checks protect the witness and the evidence.

01

Write first

Record what you saw before reading comments or comparing interpretations.

02

Keep originals

Preserve the first-generation photo or video with its metadata unchanged.

03

Remove personal data

Check faces, voices, homes, number plates and precise private locations.

04

Label uncertainty

Say what is observed, what is inferred and what remains unknown.

GROUP RULES

Eight rules for useful discussion

  1. 01

Treat witnesses with dignity. Ask for detail without ridicule or pressure.

  2. 02

Label opinion, testimony, hypothesis, publisher claim and independently corroborated evidence accurately.

  3. 03

Do not publish personal data, private addresses or identifying details without consent.

  4. 04

No threats, harassment, hate speech, impersonation or targeted accusations.

  5. 05

Do not present AI-generated, edited or recreated media as an original observation.

  6. 06

Name the publisher when sharing government claims or stated case resolutions.

  7. 07

Moderators may pause posts while provenance, consent or safety concerns are checked.

  8. 08

Corrections are part of the work. Update or remove claims when the evidence changes.

WITNESS CARE

An unusual experience can be unsettling.

Community members must not diagnose, pressure or exploit a witness. Encourage contemporaneous notes, preservation of original files and appropriate professional support if the experience causes distress. Immediate safety concerns belong with emergency or aviation authorities.
